Scheduled to launch later this fall, The Cortland is the new West Chelsea project designed by Olson Kundig and Robert A.M. Stern Architects. The award-winning architecture practice was responsible for the residential project’s architecture, Olson Kundig, the Seattle-based architecture studio, designed interiors in what is its first multi-family residential project in New York City.
Located at 555 West 22nd Street across from the Hudson River Park in West Chelsea, The Cortland is inspired by New York City’s most eclectic and multifaceted neighborhood’s rich industrial heritage and historic architecture. The building’s intricate façade is made using a mix of limestone, brick and metal detailing and features over one million hand-made and hand-laid bricks. Olson Kundig created elegant and comfortable interiors that are inspired by west coast aesthetics.
The Cortland features 144 expansive residences, each designed to take advantage of the building’s architecture and West Chelsea waterfront location. The luxury homes boast high ceilings, open-plan living and dining areas, and numerous multifunctional spaces. The residences range from studio- to five-bedroom apartments, and the building also features an assortment of expansive penthouses.
The Cortland will offer its residents access to state-of-the-art amenities, one-of-a-kind services for leisure and wellness, tailored experiences, and exclusive benefits through Related Life.
Sales commence this fall and Related Sales LLC and CORE are the exclusive co-sales and marketing agents for the project.
